Joseph Nosser receives APPE Faculty Preceptor of the Year Award

On Wednesday, William Carey University School of Pharmacy recognized Joseph Nosser as the Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) Faculty Preceptor of the Year. The honor was bestowed by the graduating Class of 2023, which commended Nosser for his exceptional service as a preceptor.
The School of Pharmacy offers the only accelerated three-year Doctor of Pharmacy program on the Gulf Coast between New Orleans and Pensacola. The program’s curriculum is designed to enable students to achieve professional competencies through exposure to activities in a progressive manner, as allowed by law. As part of the curriculum, students attend the APPE Forum to share their experiences and assess their progress towards the attainment of professional competencies and outcomes.
One of the key components of the program is the support and guidance provided by preceptors, who mentor and train the students in the practical aspects of pharmacy practice. The Preceptor of the Year awards are given to an Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experience (IPPE) preceptor and an APPE preceptor who have demonstrated outstanding service and dedication.
Joseph Nosser has been teaching student pharmacists for the past two years and has found the experience to be highly rewarding.
Joseph Nosser is the son of Dobie and Julie Nosser.
