JSU names Taylor as new offensive coordinator

Jackson State University has a new offensive coordinator for its football program. Head coach John Hendrick has promoted T.C. Taylor to offensive coordinator after completing a 4-8 season this year. Former offensive coordinator Ron Dickerson Jr. has been demoted to special teams coach.
Taylor played for JSU in the late 1990s where he helped his team compete for SWAC championships. He broke the JSU single-season record by having 84 receptions with 1,234 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns.
Taylor eventually signed a free agent deal with the New England Patriots, then moved to the Detroit Lions where he suffered a career-ending injury in 2003.
Taylor joined the JSU staff in January 2019 after coaching at North Carolina Central for five years. He also coached at Coahoma Community College and Texas Southern.
