JT Gaines led the Sonics to an 11-0 record this season while playing point guard under head coach Jabari McDaniel.

Gaines led the YMCA league in points, averaging 13.7 points per game. He is known for his quickness and ability to drive players to the goal and scoring when under the basket.

This past season was not Gaines’ only undefeated basketball season. In the 2017-2018 season,  Gaines led the Gators to an 8-0 championship season when he was in fourth grade.

Leading his teams to victory is what Gaines is known for around the youth sports world in Vicksburg, and he proves every year that he is willing to do whatever it takes to be the best. In the fall of 2019, Gaines also led his football team, the Rockets, to a 7-0 season, and they were crowned champions of the league.

Gaines is a sixth-grader at Vicksburg Intermediate School. Next year he will go on to play Junior High sports when he enters the seventh grade.
