Justin Glass signs band scholarship to Hinds Community College

St. Aloysius student Justin Glass has signed a band scholarship to Hinds Community College.

On Tuesday, a signing ceremony took place, during which Glass was surrounded by his family and friends.

Glass joined the band in eighth grade where experiencing drum camp for the first time was one of his fondest memories.

“It was a fun experience and pretty grueling but I came to love it,” Glass said.

Glass has played under band directors Caroline Gatling, B. Myers, and West Moore over the years where the band forced him to create a special bond.

“I love the family and getting to know everyone involved with the band and knowing that they have your back,” Glass said.

Glass is the son of Truett and Charlotte Glass who he thanked for sticking with him.

“They kept me in it the whole time even when I wanted to quit they stuck by my side and pushed me to go on,” he said.

Glass will be playing the bass drum in the Eagle band and he will be majoring in Biology.
