Keep weather aware this week

Throughout the remainder of the evening into the overnight hours, there remains a strong possibility of some pop-up thunderstorms.

We are currently under a thunderstorm watch until 7 p.m. with heat index values hovering above 100 degrees.

These storms can develop rapidly without much notice.

Also we have reached the time of the year when hydration becomes a key factor. Please use caution in the heat and hydrate as much as possible.

Hurricane forecasters are currently monitoring a storm that could develop into something later in the week. The storm is currently being given a 50 percent chance of developing into something significant. However it’s currently near Mexico and expected to bring substantial rain as it moves in a somewhat northerly direction.
