Kenneth Ray Davenport, 1954 – 2020
Kenneth Ray Davenport passed away Saturday, Nov. 14, 2020, at his home. He was 66.
Kenneth was born July 27, 1954, the son of Jesse B. Davenport and Florence Nelson Davenport. After he graduated from Florence High School, he worked for Foam Packaging his entire working life, retiring in 2017. He loved hunting, fishing, farming, tractors, cows, cowboy hats and boots.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Evelyn Davenport.
He is survived by his son, Samuel Anderson (Angie); daughter, Tammy Dunn; brothers Jesse Davenport, Jr. and Joseph Thompson Davenport (Evone); sisters Martha Oswalt, Liz Owens and Patricia Bozeman; grandchildren Olivia Hamme and Emily Ashley (who took especially good care of him during the last weeks of his life), Haley Wells, Hannah Hasty, Baylen Warnock, Karley Keyes, Woods Anderson and John Hayes Anderson; and eight great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, 2020, in Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl, Mississippi.
Honorary pallbearers will be David Conerly, Jay Hearn, best and lifetime friend Larry Gentry, Wayne Muirhead, Jerry Lee Edmondson, Dewitt Edmondson, employees of Foam Packaging, his sitter Lakeisha Montgomery and the nurses of Encompass Hospice Care.
