Kim Steen of Coldwell Banker All Stars, LLC set to host open house

Local real estate agent Kim Steen has announced the upcoming Open House event for the location at 6101 Lancelot Ln. in the Camelot Subdivision.

The event will be held on March 19th and will last from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00p.m. for anyone interested in stopping by for the event.

Steen, of Coldwell Banker All Stars, LLC, is a licensed agent in both Vicksburg and Louisiana. Originally from Minnesota, Steen moved to Vicksburg 20 years ago to marry Vicksburg native Hyman Steen. Kim has taught piano for over 45 years but added real estate to her skills about 15 years ago when she became interested in the business through Hyman, also of Coldwell Banker.

When asked what inspired her to start, Steen stated, “I saw a real need for people to be educated in how to buy a house.”

Steen has a passion for helping less experienced buyers who need extra help. “There’s a lot of people who really don’t know the process, and they’re kind of intimidated at first,” Steen explained.

Steen chose Coldwell Banker specifically because of the advantages it offers as a franchise: “People who have used Coldwell many times through their career changes are used to the expertise of the Coldwell Banker name brand.”

Steen likes to start new clients off with a list of lenders. While she deals with clients who use national or international banks as well, she recommends that first time buyers especially choose a more local lender. Even if a home buyer is good with technology, Steen explained, “sometimes when you run into a bump in the wall, going and talking to [a local lender] will make a bigger difference. They understand it better.”
A member of the Central Mississippi MLS, Steen does not limit herself only to this area. “I go all over,” she elaborated, “Madison, Brandon.… I like a variety”
