Kitty Girl, 2018 – 2020
Kitty Girl did not survive the surgery to repair her wounds from a gunshot. She was about a year and a half old.
The sweet stray walked into the hearts of the team at Super Junior on Oak Ridge Road and then into the hearts of the folks who shop there.
On Sunday, the sweet animal walked in the door of the store and collapsed. A quick exam determined that she had been shot. Karen Kirk was able to contact a wonderful and caring veterinarian late in the evening on a Sunday that would meet her at the animal hospital and attempt to save the beloved cat. Today, Tuesday, Jan. 28, the decision was made to do emergency surgery on Kitty Girl or the cat would not survive. Doing the surgery was risky, too, because the cat was so weak from its wounds. Kitty Girl died during surgery.
The team at Super Junior gave Kitty Girl a great life full of good food, treats, endless hugs, strokes and petting.
Donations that have been made will be used to cover the expense of the surgery. Any funds remaining after the cost of medical care will be donated to Paws Rescue.
The community is offering a $200 reward for information leading to the arrest of Kitty Girl’s shooter. If you have any information, please call the Warren County Sheriff’s Office at 601-636-1761.
