Lady Eagles defeated St. Aloysius 59-38 on Tuesday

Porter’s Chapel Academy girl’s basketball team hosted crosstown rival St. Aloysius on Tuesday nigh and came up with a  56-38 victory.

“It was a great team effort,” head coach Casey Fisher said. “We want them to have fun and execute to the fullest and they did that tonight.”

Zy Smith and Tiara Sims knocked down some big three pointers for PCA in the first quarter to go up 18-10 while McKenzie Cole and Maddy McSherry got to the basket easily for the Lady Flashes.

By halftime, the Lady Eagles extended their lead to 32-17. Sims led the way for PCA with 23 points followed by Smith who had 18 while Olivia Masterson and Marley Bufkin came in clutch on defense.

The second half went PCA’s way as well as they were were determined to finish strong in the victory. Cole and McSherry both scored 10 each for St. Aloysius and Falyn Lusby added nine.

With a 49-26 lead going into the fourth, PCA was able to put things away with the help of Anjel Walton who scored 12. Olivia Larsen also scored four on the boards for the Lady Flashes.

The Lady Flashes will travel to Madison St. Joe on Friday and PCA will travel to Benton on Thursday.
