Lady Eagles grab a district win in a doubleheader against Greenville Christian with a combined score of 36-1
The Porter’s Chapel Academy softball team started their Monday off right in a doubleheader against Greenville Christian Academy where they had two blowout wins.
“I’m excited, we’ve been struggling here and there but they took what we were working on at practice and they took it out to the game,” head coach Chandler Upton said.
In game one, PCA snagged a 17-1 win with multiple players grabbing hits.
Raegan Thornell and Katie Tillman both went 3 for 3 with three run scores. Marley Bufkin grabbed two hits while Natalie Cantin, Hannah York, Olivia Masterson, Macey Bufkin, Emily Phillipson, and Emily Collins all got one hit.
Sophie Masterson pitched the Lady Eagles to victory as she allowed no hits and struck out three batters.
In game two the Lady Eagles kept that hitting streak going with Thornell, Bufkin, and Phillipson grabbing three in the 19-0 win.
Emily Muirhead pitched the no hitter game and struck out one batter.
Macey Bufkin and Thornell pulled in four RBIs, while teammate Emily Phillipson had three and Collins got two.
Freshman Ali Blackmon also stepped in and went perfect at the plate by going 2 for 2 with two run scores as well as senior Olivia Masterson.
With hard work and dedication, the Lady Eagles were able to experience their biggest wins of the year under Coach Upton as they now will prepare to keep up their excellent play.
