St. Aloysius softball team has officially clinched a playoff spot for the first time since 2014.

The Lady Flashes are 15-7 under first-year Head Coach Mike Foley who has led the team this year. They started their season off with a five game winning streak and continued to crush teams they struggled with in the past.

Over the last couple of years St. Aloysius picked a couple of varsity players such as Ruthie Britton and Madison Spencer who both contributed to the team’s success, especially in hitting. Kyleigh Cooper continues to lead the team on the rubber by producing multiple strikeouts while freshman Megan Theriot hits nearly anything thrown her way.

On Monday, St. Al celebrated senior night for Lili Perniciaro and Maddy McSherry who will be graduating in May.

McSherry already had a positive reputation for her hitting ability as she sits with a .375 batting average, 15 hits and 15 RBIs in 2023. Perniciaro stepped up as she now has a season-high of 13 hits, 10 RBIs and a .419 batting average.
