Lady Flashes freshman pitcher Kyleigh Cooper totaled 22 strike-outs in Tri-County Tournament
St. Aloysius freshman Kyleigh Cooper is starting her first season strong on the rubber for the Lady Flashes.
The right-hand pitcher struck out eight batters and went 3 for 4 at the plate in last week’s match with Jackson Academy. The 7-1 victory ended a multi-year hard luck streak for the Lady Flashes, and set the tone for Cooper’s continued contributions to the team success.
The Lady Flashes played a total of three games in the competition, and managed snag another victory in a hard-fought match against Clinton Christian Academy.
Over the course of their tournament play, Cooper came up with a total of 22 strikeouts, nine of which helped secure Saturday’s 2-1 victory over CCA.
Under the leadership of Coach Savannah Buck, Cooper and her teammates are showing that they have the skills and the grit to be contenders this season. The Lady Flashes will be back in action on Monday, when they will travel to play Madison St. Joe.
