St. Aloysius girl’s basketball team went back and forth with Cathedral on Tuesday as they came up short in a 49-41 loss.

The Lady Flashes brought plenty of pressure at the start of the game. With the help of Falyn Lusby, Maddy McSherry and Marissa Jabour, they went up 17-8 by the end of the first quarter.

Lusby would be the key player for the Lady Flashes, scoring 23 points total and helped St. Al go up 21-13 at halftime.

The third quarter is where Cathedral picked up the pace and made it to the basket multiple times. The Lady Flashes had a tough time making shots in the third, but would pick things up late in the game.

Cathedral eventually gained the lead. Lusby went hard in the fourth quarter by scoring 13 point to keep things tight.

McSherry scored eight points in the game and Jabour added six.

The Lady Flashes eventually took the loss and will pick things up on Friday when they travel to Central Hinds.
