Lady Flashes JV softball team won their season opener 7-2 on Friday

St. Aloysius Junior Varsity(Junior High) softball team won their season opener against Madison St. Joe on Friday in a 7-2 win.

Singles by Mageigh Haller and Kay Rader gave the Lady Flashes their first two runs just shortly before Scarlett Couch earned a steal at home to put St. Al up 3-2 in the first inning.

The second inning would be very profitable for the Lady Flashes as Megan Theriot hit a triple and would eventually score off a passed ball while Marley Gibellino hit a double as St. Al went up 6-2. Couch would earn the final RBI in the third inning to help the Lady Flashes secure the 7-2 victory.

Madelyn Kavanaugh pitched most of the game where she struck out four batters in two innings. She also went 2 for 2 at bat.

Theriot also went 2 for 2 with an RBI while Gibellino, Haller, Radar and Spencer all had a hit.

St. Al will travel to Tallulah Academy on Monday.
