Lady Flashes punished Riverfield in a 10-3 win on Thursday

St. Aloysius remains undefeated after crushing Riverfield Academy 10-3 win on Thursday night.
“We were kinda nervous at first but practice has paid off and that gave us everything we needed to come out with the win tonight,” Ruthie Britton said.
Things didn’t get heated until the third inning when Adams hit a double that brought in two runs for Riverfield. The Lady Flashes quickly responded with RBIs from Ali G. Luke and Maddy McSherry as they took the 3-2 lead.
A combination of walks, wild pitches and an RBI from Madison Spencer all gave St. Al four more runs in the fourth inning with a 7-2 lead. Presley Brister and Raegan Thornell both earned hits in the fifth but the Lady Flashes would maintain the five-run lead heading into the sixth as Megan Theriot continued to bring in major hits.
RA would earn one run in the sixth and St. Al answered back with a single from Kyleigh Cooper and a double from McSherry along with a single by Britton to go up 10-3.
St. Al was able to hold RA off in the seventh to take home the win.
Freshmen Theriot and Brister both dominated by going 3 for 3 at the plate.
“I knew we were going to come out strong and I knew God was on my side so I took my hand to the ball and exploded,” Brister said.
Britton finished the night with two hits and two RBIs while Cooper, McSherry, Luke and Thornell all had one hit. Cooper struck out nine batters on the night.
The Lady Flashes will play again on Saturday.
