Lady Flashes took a 48-36 loss to Greenville Christian

St. Aloysius girl’s basketball team took a 48-36 loss to Greenville Christian School on Saturday.

The Lady Flashes trailed 9-8 at the end of the first quarter with shots coming from Madi Matthews along with a 3-pointer by Falyn Lusby. By halftime, St. Al took a 23-21 lead after Emily Cook came down with multiple shots while Skylar Connelly and Taryn Lusby both hit a 3-pointer.

Coming out of halftime, GCS managed to regain the lead after multiple layups. St. Al did well at the free throw line but trailed 37-26 heading into the fourth. McKenzie Cole also had two big blocks in that quarter.

Down 42-34 after a nice shot by Maddy McSherry, there was only 2:32 left to play but the Lady Flashes would never regain the lead after a good fight.

Cook led with 12 points while Matthews and Falyn finished with eight. Connelly and Taryn both scored three points and McSherry added two.

Boys’s game:

The Flashes took a 71-34 loss to GCS with Carson Gleese leading with eight points. Ahmad Stewart scored seven on the night and Korey Simms put up five. Anthony McCloud and Will Keen both scored four while Carson Henderson added three and Carter Henderson put u two.
