Lady Vikes defeated VHS in four sets on Tuesday

Warren Central High School volleyball team had a tense game with Vicksburg High as the Lady Vikes came out on top in four set(25-15,25-18,23-25,25-11).
“The Gators came out with a good game plan and they had solid defense but we bounced back and stuck with our game plan which was to attack the ball,” WC Head Coach Matthew Gullett said.
Both teams fought hard and gave the audience a show in the big district game.
Melissa Herrle finished with 10 kills, two blocks and 17 assists. Ellie Henderson had 15 kills and three digs while Calise Henyard added 10 kills and KK Kelly had 12 assists.
Although WC finished out on top, the Missy Gators brought a challenge throughout every set as they came up with big plays.
“Out of the 12 years that volleyball has been at Vicksburg, this is the best that we have ever played WC,” VHS Head Coach Deborah Brown said. “They had team chemistry and we just have to keep on fighting and take it on the floor and leave it on the floor.”
VHS stats were not reported at the time of this writing but will be updated.
WC is now 16-8 on the year and will travel to Neshoba Central on Thursday while VHS is 6-4 and they will host Callaway on Thursday.
