Lady Vikes fell short in a 9-7 loss to Florence

Warren Central softball team took a close 9-7 loss to Florence on Thursday.

A single by Kamry Morson brought in the first run for WC followed by a hit from Lola Crozier that brought in two more runs to put the Lady Vikes up 3-0. Florence was able to get a few hits and responded with four runs to take the lead.

The Lady Eagles would get on the board again in the third after a hit from Campbell that brought in two runs.

Makayla Jackson and Sarah Cameron Fancher would both get RBIs but Florence stayed on top  with a score of 8-5.

Adalyn Anderson and Crozier would get the Lady Vikes two more runs with RBIs as they trailed 8-7 heading into the sixth.

Florence picked up one more late run while WC failed to get on the board and took the tough loss.

Madi Pant allowed six runs and struck out one while Abby Morgan struck out two and allowed three runs.

Fancher and Morson each had a hit while Crozier had three RBIs with one hit.

Florence’s King went 3 for 3 at the plate while Coumbe and Martin both struck out four.

WC will host Wesson on Tuesday.
