Lady Vikes on a four game winning streak after defeating Loyd Star
Warren Central High School softball team are now on a four game winning streak after defeating Loyd Star 8-4 on Monday.
Loyd Star quickly took a 2-0 lead in the first inning but the Lady Vikes didn’t hesitate to respond after a sacrifice and a ground ball that tied things up at two by the end of the first.
In the third inning Loyd Star would get one run score but Abby Morgan helped WC regain the lead after hitting a home run that brought in two scores.
Sarah Cameron Fancher would get a RBI in the fourth inning along with Morgan. Lola Crozier doubled on a line drive and J.Smith got the final RBI of the night to end the score at 8-4.
Morgan struck out four batters on the night and Maddie Pant struck out one.
Jenn Smith went 2 for 3 with on RBI in the win while Morgan hit three RBIs and went 2 for 2. Kayleigh Karel also finished with two hits on the night while Fancher, Mary Evelyn Hossley, Crozier, Kamryn Morson each had one hit.
Fancher, Jill Smith, Jenn Smith, and Crozier each had one RBI.
The Lady Vikes will face Madison Central on Tuesday.
