Lady Vikes shutout Florence and blows out Brookhaven on Saturday

Warren Central softball team knocked off Florence 5-0 on Saturday to get their first win of the season.

Pitcher Abby Morgan didn’t allow a run in the shutout as she struck out five batters.

The Lady Vikes went up 1-0 in the first inning and scored two runs in both the third and fourth.

Jenn Smith, Makayla Jackson, Mary Evelyn Hossley, Morgan, and Kayleigh Karel each had a hit in the win. Smith, Karel, Morgan, and Sarah Cameron Fancher each had a hit in the win.

Game 2:

The Lady Vikes took down Brookhaven 14-2 where Smith, Jackson and Tara Bridges got three hits each on the night. Bridges also had three RBIs.

The second inning was most profitable for WC as they scored 10 runs coming from Bridges, Adalyn Anderson, McKay, and Smith.

Annalyn Nevels pitched the Vikes to the win and struck out three.

WC will travel to Madison Central on Tuesday.
