Lady Vikes softball team continues annual tradition by donating toys
The Lady Vikes softball team are continuing their annual tradition by donating toys. It’s a tradition the Lady Vikes softball team looks forward to every year.
For more than eight years the team has come together to provide gifts during the holiday season for the local shelter.
“We’re out here shopping for our angel tree which we do it annually with softball,” said Warren Central Senior Annalyn Nevels.
Because there are less fortunate families the the softball player says they take the teamwork off the field and into stores to help put a smile on someone’s face.
The group normally picks two children each, a boy and a girl, They then start the shopping process.
Softball coach Dana McGivney says she loves that they are able to get together as a family and give back to their community. She tells Vicksburg Daily News, “This is the most important things we do as a team.”
Every gift is purchased by the team who puts their money together to help the families in need.
