Late inning caused PCA to fall short against Central Hinds

Porter’s Chapel Academy took a 15-9 loss to Central Hinds on Monday.

After a single from Gage Palmer, Thomas Azlin sacrificed to get PCA on the board first. John Wyatt Massey got a double and eventually scored from a wild pitch to put the Eagles up 2-0.

PCA would take a 3-0 lead in the second after a RBI from Palmer while Massey struck out two batters.

The fourth inning was big for the Eagles after a single by Selby then RBIs from Zach Ashley, Massey and Palmer put the score at 8-2.

The sixth winning would by crucial for the Eagles as CH picked up 11 runs after a few hits and a home run to go up 13-8. They also picked up two more runs in the seventh to win 15-9 against PCA.

Massey went 3 for 3 at the plate while Palmer and Chase Hearn both had two hits. Selby, Brayden King and Zach Ashley each had one hit.

Massey struck out seven in the loss and allowed four hits.

PCA will host Sharkey-Issaquena on Tuesday.
