Layla Carter named as Missy Gators team MVP

Vicksburg High School athlete Layla Carter has been named as the Missy Gators basketball Most Valuable Player.

Carter was given the award at the school’s athletic banquet by her basketball coach where she was surrounded by the rest of her teammates.

Carter averaged over 15 points per game this season and was also the District 4-5A Basketball Player of the Year as she led the Missy Gators to the semifinals.

The sophomore is not only a dominant player on the court, she also received high recognition in track and field this season and still has two years left to shine for the Missy Gators.
