Leigh A. Murray went to heaven Monday, Aug. 3, 2020, to be met by the loving arms of her grandparents and family that have gone on before her.

Leigh was born June 10, 1977, the daughter of Ronald M. Blaine and Darlene Joseph Blaine. She was a lovely, vivacious shooting star, burning brightly across our lives, spreading her light and love to all in her path. She played hard and loved fiercely. She always brought the party with her, lighting up the room and being the center of attention. There was no way not to have a good time when you were with Leigh. She loved music and cooking and being cooked for. She was an avid Texas Longhorn fan.

Leigh had a very strong desire to be helpful to others. This desire led her to become a nurse who was very devoted to her patients. She served for 18 years for the Department of Defense at Darnall Army Hospital.

She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Ecward L. Blaine and Merle Blaine Witt, and maternal grandparents, Lee Joseph and Evelyn Joseph.

She is survived by her husband, Sgt. 1st Class David G. Murray; son, Graham Murray; daughter, Lofton M. Murray; father, Ronald M. Blaine, and step-mother, June; mother, Darlene Blaine, and step-father, Dean Sprouse; brothers Chris Blaine and James Mayo (Tiffany); sister, Jennifer Morse (Brian); nieces Kaitlyn Mayo, Cora Mayo and Claire Mayo; uncle, Frank Joseph; aunts Linda Hollingsworth (Jack) and Lena McMillin; and numerous cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 7, 2020 at Glenwood Funeral Home with Rev. Dwight Sibley officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jack Hollingsworth, Steve Pearl, Chris Blaine, James Mayo and Brian Morse.
