Leo Vick Koestler Jr., 1940 – 2020

Leo Koestler

Leo Vick Koestler Jr. passed away Friday, March 13, 2020. He was 80 years old.

Born in Vicksburg, Miss., he had been a resident of Vicksburg most of his life. Mr. Koestler graduated from St. Aloysius High School and joined the United States Navy in 1958.

Mr. Koestler retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He was a great painter and artist, outdoorsman, cook and loved playing football in his youth.

He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church of Vicksburg, Miss.

He is survived by his family members: Carolyn W. Koestler, his brother Michael T. Koestler of San Francisco, Calif., His sons Mike Koestler (Diane) of Eagle Lake, Miss., Pat Koestler (Mimi) of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Leo V. Koestler III of Vicksburg, Miss., Chris Koestler(Ashley) of Madison, Miss., and numerous nieces, nephews, nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his parents Leo Sr. and Mae Koestler, his son James “Barney” Koestler Sr., his grandson Zachary Koestler.

At the request of the family, arrangements have been changed. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 18, at Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Sam Godfrey officiating. A short visitation will be held before and after the service.

Pallbearers will be James B. Koestler, Jr., Benjamin Lee Koestler, Britton Michael Koestler, Trenton Wayne Koestler, Jared Henke and Mathew Edwards.
