Let there be light: utility providers say restoration nearly complete

As of 2:30 p.m. Monday, electric providers continue to work to restore service to customers across Warren County.
“We had a peak of over 7200 without power as of now 538 are out and estimating to have everyone restored by tonight,” Entergy spokeswoman Sheila McKinnis told Vicksburg Daily News. “23 broken poles, 8 damaged transformers, and 90 spans of wire down have kept linemen working 16-hour shifts for the past five days.”
Yazoo Valley Electric Power continues to work in some highly isolated areas of the northern part of the county, which require additional resources due to terrain issues. As of 1 p.m., they were reporting less than 200 outages system wide, many in Warren and Yazoo counties.
Twin County has experienced complete restoration. All three entities received assistance from other utilities from throughout the southern United States.
