Leticia Street shooting victim airlifted to UMMC

Vicksburg police are continuing their investigation into a shooting that occurred on Leticia Street near its intersection with Dewitt Street at around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The victim was transported to Merit Health River Region by private vehicle and was subsequently airlifted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.

According to Vicksburg Police Chief Milton Moore, the victim’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Chief Moore said the circumstances surrounding the shooting are being investigated and they have no suspects at this time.
