In an effort to promote local businesses and bring the community together, three local business owners, Mikayla Banks, Madison Banks and Tybias Williams, are joining forces to host a vibrant pop-up shop event. The event will take place on Saturday, July 8, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Jackson Street Community Center located at 923 Walnut Street.

Mikayla Banks, the owner of MK Banks & Co. and Let’s Bake, shared her motivation for organizing this event. “We just thought it would be something good to do in our own community, to host something where different businesses can come together and showcase their products,” she said. Recognizing the need for exposure, Mikayla believes that the event will provide a platform for small businesses to connect with customers and gain visibility.

“We’ll have music, giveaways, and door prizes. We just want people to come out, have a good time, eat, shop, and support the different vendors,” said Mikayla Banks.

The event will feature over 30 vendors from the surrounding local areas, offering a diverse range of products and services. Some of the confirmed vendors include Lu Lu Fit & Co., She’s So Essential, Wanda’s Wreaths, Dream Chasers, Young Goat, Hair Affair, and many more. With such a wide variety of vendors, attendees will have plenty of options to choose from while supporting local businesses.

Madison Banks emphasized, “Our purpose for this pop-up shop is to promote all the businesses in the surrounding areas and put everyone on the map, while trying to bring the community together.”

Citing the negativity seen in the world today, the trio wants to provide an opportunity for people to have a good time, enjoy themselves, and connect with others in a positive environment.

This sentiment is echoed by Tybias Williams, the owner of Exotic Pakk Co., who expressed the desire for the event to contribute to the well-being of the community. “There’s just so much negativity going on in this world, we just want to have a good time, have fun, and bring everyone together,” he stated.
