A local resident found himself as the latest burglary victim in a string of car break-ins in the area. He is now pleading with residents to lock their doors.

Dwayne Franklin, Sr. took to social media to tell his story on Wednesday. Franklin provided security footage of what appears to be juveniles checking the doors on the vehicles and entering one which was unlocked at around 4:30 a.m. on Fleetwood Drive. In his post, he asked his fellow neighbors to be aware and lock their doors.

While this incident happened within the city, the county is finding itself facing a similar issue.

Last week, the Warren County Sheriff’s office addressed a string of five vehicle robberies, all involving unlocked doors. One involved the theft of a handgun which was left inside the vehicle.

Pace stated that some of the items have been recovered and returned. However, no arrests have been made. Authorities are reviewing various security footage from the area. They believe at least three males were involved. Pace stated it appeared as though they moved from place to place looking for unlocked cars.

It is unknown if the three males shown in the security footage are the same ones involved in the Warren County thefts. However, the method appears to be the same. They appear to be looking for doors that are left unlocked in order to make a quick grab.

Franklin asks that anyone with information as to the identity of the suspects to contact the Vicksburg Police Department in reference to case # 22-3855. More security footage is provided below.
