Local Woman Donates Time, Tears, Dollars to Children's Shelter

I’m sitting here in tears as I write this. Ruby Ward is an amazing person and I am a much better person for having met her. She and I shared our testimony and prayed together before I packed up my gear and headed away. As I started out the door, Cindy was taking Ms. Ruby by the hand and leading her on a personalized tour of the shelter. I’d like to thank Cindy for inviting me to cover this event. We’re all preparing for this Sunday – Christmas Sunday – a day where we will celebrate the birth of the Man sent to cleanse our souls of sin with His blood. His sacrifice changed all of our lives. Though none of us will ever have the impact on this earth that Jesus did, I can tell you that Ruby Ward’s sacrifice of time and tears in her gift of love certainly impacted a few people here in Warren County… I think that I can safely speak for Cindy and say that she and I were both profoundly impacted by Ruby’s love and her faith in God! As for the money raised by raffling the blanket, McCarley discussed the use of the money with Ms. Ward and the decision was made to keep that money to brighten some future birthday celebrations. The community has been very generous to the children at the shelter this year and the Christmas gifts are plentiful. Birthday gifts are much harder to come by and Ms. Ward’s gift will help ease some of those troubles! [gallery link="file" orderby="title"]]]]]> ]]>
