Log truck crash takes down power lines on Highway 3

Just after 10 a.m. Tuesday, first responders were dispatched to Mississippi Highway 3 at the Yazoo Valley substation, just south of International Paper, for an overturned log truck.
The truck took down several utility lines as it overturned, trapping the driver with live wires. The driver was transported to Merit Health River Region with non life threatening injuries.
The incident has interrupted service across the South Delta, and is under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
Numerous Mississippi Highway Patrol Troopers, sheriff’s deputies and Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace responded along with a Fire Medic Unit and Rescue from the Vicksburg Fire Department. Vicksburg Deputy Fire Chief Trey Martin, Fire Coordinator Jerry Briggs, Northeast Fire Chief Shane Garrard, Captain Chuck Tate from Culkin Fire Department along with Engine 202, and Reed Birdsong with Warren County Emergency Management worked at the scene.
