Lola Crozier signs to Mississippi Delta CC

Warren Central High School softball player Lola Crozier has now signed to Mississippi Delta Community College. Crozier, a catcher for the Lady Vikes, made everything official on Monday in front of family, friends and teammates.
Crozier has been playing softball since the age of six, where she quickly fell in love with the game after being taught by her first coach, Kim Burnham.
“Having uplifting teammates has always been my favorite thing when it comes to softball,” Crozier said.
As a 10th grader, Crozier transferred from Richland High School to WC where she found a new home with the Lady Vikes.
“We play all together as a team here and the coaches are very uplifting so it’s a great environment,” Crozier said.
Throughout each year in high school, Crozier’s game improved as she was named as the team MVP in 2022 as a junior. Her best performance that year was against Loyd Star where she went 2 for 3 at the plate while also hitting a home run. She was also selected to play in the 2022 Mississippi Association of Coaches All-Star Game alongside teammate Abby Morgan.
“I was really proud of me and Abby because we got to experience it together,” Crozier said. “As a pitcher and catcher, we both have a bond, but it was a good opportunity to be there with Abby.”
Just a year later, Crozier is ranked No.4 in fielding percentage. She was ranked No.1 a week and a half ago before getting a concussion at the Brookhaven Tournament.
After much consideration, Crozier selected Mississippi Delta CC as her next destination.
“I really liked the coaches at my visit and they came and watched our Clinton game, but they were very sweet and welcoming,” Crozier said.
Crozier is now towards the end of her senior season under head coach Dana Mcgivney, who allowed her to earn a leadership role with the Lady Vikes.
“I love Coach McGivney. She’s more than a coach, she has made it like a family here and she welcomed me in with open arms when I joined in tenth grade, just as the rest of the team,” Crozier said.
Crozier thanked her two senior teammates, Morgan and Kyleigh Karel, for sticking with her throughout the last few years and creating some of her best memories.
“We used to have a really big rivalry in tournament ball before I moved to Vicksburg, so I was scared when I first got there, but they were super sweet,” Crozier said.
Crozier, Morgan and Karel will all celebrate their senior night together on Tuesday against Pearl.
Crozier’s work with the Lady Vikes isn’t done yet as she has plenty of more games to play before officially entering college.
Crozier is the daughter of Billy and Leanna Crozier.
