Work on the westbound lanes of the Interstate 20 Mississippi River Bridge is scheduled to be complete by June 5.

In a pair of announcements from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, the agency said that work on the westbound lanes will end shortly after work on the eastbound lanes begin.

Eastbound construction is scheduled to begin Tuesday, May 26, and end Sunday, Jan. 31, 2021.

The following maximum vehicle width restrictions will apply:
10 foot maximum width with the following exception,
16 foot maximum width Fridays 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The $27.7 million project will provide a number of significant repairs including the bridge deck, electrical system and roadway lighting components.

Louisiana DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and to be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
