Louisiana school board member charged with attempted second-degree murder


A school board member in northeast Louisiana has been arrested and charged with attempted second-degree murder.
According to a report by KNOE, Darrell Sims was taken into custody on Sunday, June 12 after being accused of attempted murder.
Tallulah police state the victim, a 54-year-old male, was shot in the back of the neck. The victim was taken to a Madison Parish hospital where he was treated and released.
Tallulah Police Chief buster McCoy stated that Sims represents District 5 on the Madison Parish School Board.
Sims has since been released on a $100,000 bond.
