Louisiana trooper dies after crash on I-20

A trooper with the Louisiana State Police has died after a crash on Interstate 20 in Monroe.

Trooper Christopher Hollingsworth was involved in a single-vehicle accident Monday around 3 a.m. on I-20 eastbound near the Bastrop, Columbia exit, reports KNOE.

Hollingsworth was the only person in the vehicle, and he was severely injured. He was transported to the hospital and then transferred by air ambulance to LSU-Shreveport, where he died.
