Louisiana ‘Trooper of the Year’ arrested on child pornography charges
The Louisiana State Police 2018 Trooper of the Year has been arrested for producing and distributing child pornography.
The agency put Jason Boyet, 41, on administrative leave after his arrest Wednesday, reports WWL. He has been with the LSP since 2006, and was previously with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office and Georgia State Patrol.
The FBI and LSP Special Victims Unit worked together to investigate Boyet, who allegedly shared the pornography on an online application.
Boyet was arrested at his home and booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail. He was later transferred to a different facility and into protective custody.
WWL reports that he is married and has three children.
