VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN)-Myles Brennan, who was expected to be LSU’s starting quarterback going into the 2021 season, has suffered an injury to his left arm, the Tigers announced on Monday.

“Myles Brennan suffered a severe injury that will require surgery,” head coach Ed Orgeron said. “His timeline is yet to be determined. Myles has done everything we have asked of him this summer and was in the fight to be the starting quarterback at LSU.”

Brennan has passed for 1,712 yards and 13 touchdowns with six interceptions in 18 career games.

Brennan’s injury leaves LSU with only two scholarship quarterbacks on its fall roster, Johnson and true freshman Garrett Nussmeier, a four-star recruit out of Texas. The Tigers, who went 5-5 last season, open the 2021 season Sept. 4 at UCLA.
