Madam C.J. Walker Dolls are now in stores

The Madam C.J. Walker Doll is now in stores and able to be purchased for those who might want a piece of history.

Walker, who is the first self-made female millionaire in the U.S., was honored by the creation of her doll which is one of the newest editions of Barbie’s Inspiring Women Collection.

“We’re so excited about it and I can’t think of anyone more deserving than Madam C.J. Walker,” said Jody Blankenship, president and CEO of the Indiana Historical Society.

Walker made her fortune through her homemade line of hair care products for black women and she remains as pro dominant figure in the history of the United States.

“I think Madam C.J. Walker’s important for a number of reasons, obviously it’s her business acumen, she was a heck of a businessperson,” Blankenship said.

The Madam C.J. Walker Doll can be found online or in a host of stores such as Walmart.
