Magee mayor wanted for assault

Magee police have issued a warrant for the city’s mayor after assault charges were filed by his wife, WLBT reports.

Officers were dispatched to Mayor Dale Berry’s home on Saturday morning, but Mayor Berry was not home when police arrived.  His wife was, though, and she pressed charges resulting in a warrant being issued.

Mayor Dale Berry is wanted on a misdemeanor charge of simple assault domestic.

“It’s an open investigation, however, it is a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence. Magee PD will uphold the law at all standards no matter who it is,” Magee Police Chief Shane Little said.
