Man arrested after attacking Ridgeland police officer

On Thursday evening, a man named Christian Lewis was apprehended by Ridgeland police officers after attacking one of them.

The incident took place at a Family Dollar store situated on County Line Road in Ridgeland. Lewis was under the influence of a substance overdose at the time.

Chief Brian Myers, head of the Ridgeland Police Department, confirmed the attack and stated that Lewis was arrested and taken to a Jackson hospital in an ambulance, accompanied by Ridgeland police officers.

Lewis faces several charges, including disorderly conduct, failure to comply, resisting arrest, and simple assault on a police officer.
