Man arrested on domestic violence assault charge

Police arrested a Vicksburg man Saturday in connection with a domestic assault.

Saturday at 4:06 p.m., officers with the Vicksburg Police Department responded to an address in the 800 block of West Pine Street in reference to an assault.

The victim stated that her boyfriend, Martin McWilliams, 41, of Vicksburg, choked her and threatened to kill her if she called the police during an altercation. McWilliams was arrested on one count of aggravated assault, domestic violence.

Appearing before Judge Angela Carpenter Monday in Vicksburg Municipal Court, Carpenter set his bond at $35,000 and bound him over to the Warren County grand jury.
