Man assaulted at Vicksburg O’Reilly Auto Parts on Clay

A local 42-year-old man got into an argument today at O’Reilly Auto Parts, 2222 Clay St. in Vicksburg, and ended up with lacerations on his face and back.

The argument started over a disputed vehicle sale two years ago. The injured party reportedly walked to the back of the store to get away from the other individual and was followed to the back and assaulted there.

A suspect has been identified and is known to law enforcement. That suspect left the scene of the altercation prior to police arriving.

Engine 6 was on scene and the injured man was transported to Merit Health River Region for treatment.
