Man killed in downtown accident

A man has been killed in a freak accident near the intersection of Grove and Washington streets. The victim has been identified as Jeffrey Alan Lloyd, 54, of Auburn, Alabama.

The accident was reported to Vicksburg-Warren 911 at 5:24 p.m.  According to Vicksburg Police Chief Milton Moore, the man’s vehicle began to roll and as he attempted to stop it, he was struck by the vehicle as it rolled and did not survive his injuries.

Chief Moore says Accident Investigator Russell Dorsey is conducting the investigation on behalf of the Police Department. Warren County Coroner Doug Huskey is on scene on the incident at this time.
