Man murdered attempting to buy ATV from Facebook seller

A 26-year-old Ocean Springs man has been found dead after meeting a seller to buy an ATV that was listed on Facebook Marketplace.  Authorities have made one arrest and are searching for another suspect still at large.

According to Holmes County Sheriff Willie March, Kyle Craig drove from his home in Ocean Springs to Holmes County Wednesday to purchase an ATV that he found on Facebook.  When his family did not hear from him, Craig was reported missing.

Investigators believe that whoever he met up with had lured him to arrive with a large sum of money and then robbed and killed him.  Craig’s body was found off of Long Branch Road, near the West community, with multiple gunshot wounds.

Sheriff March said that a juvenile male has been taken into custody and another suspect, Montavious Landfair, remains at large.  Anyone with information on this crime or the whereabouts of Landfair should contact the Holmes County Sheriff’s Department at 662-834-1511.
