A man wanted for the attempted murder of a Louisiana State Police trooper has been killed by police.

Erroll Johnson, 31, fled the scene Sunday after he exchanged gunfire with an officer attempting a traffic stop near Calhoun, Louisiana.

Johnson’s passenger was injured in the exchange and was transported to a hospital. Their injuries were reportedly minor.

Early Wednesday morning, police located Johnson at a motel in Monroe, Louisiana, reports KNOE. Johnson refused to surrender, according to police, and opened fire on the officers. He was killed by police.

No police officers were injured in either exchange.
