Man wanted in North Carolina arrested by Warren County deputy
Warren County Deputy Jonny Beauchamp conducted a regular traffic stop in late September. Asked for information, the driver could not produce a valid driver’s license. After following up on the incident, Beauchamp discovered that the individual had given a false name along with false identification.
The Warren County Sheriff’s Department was able to discover the individual’s actual name, James Michael Dority, and recognized him as a convicted house burglar from North Carolina who was wanted there for parole violations.
The department set out a local warrant for Dority with charges of providing false information to law enforcement and being a fugitive from justice. Chief Deputy Billy Heggins made contact with him at his residence on Eagle Lake Shore road.
At the time of his arrest Dority had a small package filled with several rocks, believed to be crystal methamphetamines.Â
Dority, 41, is being held in the Warren County jail charged locally with providing false information to law enforcement, being a fugitive from Justice in the state of Mississippi and possession of a controlled substance.Â
He has also had a detainer placed on him by the state of North Carolina, meaning that he will be tried for his local charges before being shipped back to North Carolina where he will be held without bond.
