Many show out for 33rd annual Over the River Run

The 33rd annual Over the River Run event has brought in many runners from around the area who wish to take part in the trek across the Mississippi River Bridge. The event began at 8 a.m., Saturday.

Runners and walkers lined up to take part in a five mile scenic course which leads participants across the Mississippi River to Delta, Louisiana and back again.

The Southern Cultural Heritage Foundation presents this annual event to help raise funds for its non-profit organization to help preserve the diverse cultural heritage of Vicksburg. Surplus proceeds will aid in the rehabilitation of the Southern Cultural Heritage Center and address maintenance issues of its five historic buildings.
