Marco and Laura continue moving to the Gulf Coast

Tropical storms Marco and Laura are continuing on their march to inundate the Gulf Coast with strong winds and heavy rain.
Marco is expected to bring gusty winds, dangerous storm surge and heavy rainfall to the area beginning later today.
Tropical Storm Laura could bring additional storm surge, rainfall and wind impacts to portions of the coast by the middle of the week. This could result in a prolonged period of hazardous weather for areas that may already be affected by Marco.
Monday, Laura is expected to hit Cuba and Jamaica with heavy rain and wind, causing mudslides and life-threatening flooding. Later Monday, tropical storm conditions will hit the middle and lower Florida Keys.
While long-range forecasts remain uncertain, Laura is expected to intensify as she comes in across the Gulf of Mexico.
Gov. Tate Reeves will hold a live news conference at 10:30 a.m. to update the public on preparations for the storms. You can watch it live on the Vicksburg Daily News Facebook page.
