Margaret Ann Beard, 1953 – 2023

Margaret Ann Beard, 69 of Columbus, MS passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2023, in her home surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Beard was born September 25, 1953, to Richard Wooten and the late Helen Lee Sanders. She attended Bethesda Baptist Church. Margaret’s greatest love was her family. She was the heart of her family. To most she was Margaret Beard, but to the ones she loved the most, she was “momma” and “Mammaw.” She showed her family unconditional love. Her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren knew that her love for them never wavered.

Mrs. Beard was preceded in death by her mother—Helen Sanders; her brother— Carl Wooten; her sisters— Kathryn Evon Trim and Linda O’Brien; her grandchild- Brittney Ann Marie Self.

Margaret is survived by her husband of 53 years, John Wesley Beard Sr.; brother Jerry (Betty) Wooten; Son-John Wesley (Melony) Beard Jr.; daughters- Tammy Hall and Bonny Beard; grandchildren- Corey Beard, Lindsey Hooper, Dillon Beard, Ronnie Self, Necole Hall, Dawson Beard, Brooke Perry, Dallas Beard; 7 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Glenwood Funeral Home in Vicksburg, MS on Tuesday July 18, 2023. Visitation will be at 1:00pm with a memorial service to follow at 2:00pm. The service officiant will be Brother Hoyt Ainsworth. All are welcome.
