Margaret Gilmer Bridge dedication ceremony to take place Monday afternoon

A ceremony to officially name and dedicate the Margaret Gilmer Bridge will take place on Monday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The bridge, located on South Frontage Road near the Outlet Mall, will be closed from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. to allow MDOT time to set up for the ceremony.

Gilmer, who passed away on Jan. 2, 2022, was a driving force in developing Vicksburg via her work on the Economic Development Foundation and numerous businesses throughout her life. You can read more about her accomplishments in this story by the Vicksburg Warren Economic Development Foundation.

The public event is expected to be attended by various local and state officials.
